New York, NY - Mrs. Paper, an independent woman-owned business, received the Access NY Award for having the most Done Deals with the City of New York. The company was honored at the 11th annual Breakthrough Breakfast event sponsored by the Women Presidents' Educational Organization -NY (WPEO). This prestigious honor is awarded to the woman-owned business reporting the most Done Deals with the City of New York as part of the Done Deals™ Challenge sponsored the WPEO. The breakfast event was held Friday, October 2 at the Grand Central Hyatt.
Mrs. Paper received the honor in recognition of successfully contracting a remarkable amount of business deals with a mix of 13 NYC Agencies and businesses over the past year from April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009. The scope of contracts included security paper, recycled paper, envelopes, specialty paper, bond paper, cut size, carbonless, engineering rolls, laminating rolls, and cover stock.
Gwendolyn Tuner, Director, Worldwide Supplier Diversity, Pfizer, Inc. presented the award to Mrs. Paper's founder and president, Marion Hindenburg. "Being recognized among my peers - other women-owned businesses - is truly an honor. As a WBE, and a small business, we may have greater challenges to overcome," said Hindenburg. "However, this award is a reminder to all WBEs that opportunities do exist for us and they are obtainable." WPEO president and founder, Marcia Firestone, Ph.D. was also present and extended her congratulations to Ms. Hindenburg as this years reciepent of this years Access New York City Award on the remarkable achievement as this year's winner in the WPEO's 4th Annual Done Deals™ Challenge.
